Description

When leaving the valley behind, many rare items were hidden in the valley but never recovered. A fellow valley inhabitant (NPC) stumbles over one of these buried treasures and needs your help to unearth it, in return for a share in its spoils. Trigger the unearthing timer and claim control by being in the event zone. After 5 minutes you will be able to get your loot.

Spawn

Minimap Carcass Carcass Start
The carcass spawns and is shown on the minimap. The Event can be started by activating the carcass.

NPC-Attack

Carcass NPC Spawn
After the carcass is activated, NPC will spawn and attack any nearby player (mot likely the activator). If not killed, they will contest the carcass.

Battle for control

Carcass contested
This is the main phase of the event. The carcass can be contested by NPC and other players alike. To contest the carcass you must stand in the event zone (circle) around it (green). The caption shows the following details:
The upper bar (1) ist the amount of time left before the carcass will become lootable.
The "Owner" (2) is the current owner of the carcass. Whoever is the owner at the end of the duration-timer will be able to loot the carcass.
The "Attacker" (4) is the person currently contesting the objective. If the attacker is ???, a NPC was the attacker and despawned.
The "Score"-bar (3) is the progress, the attacker has made in contesting the objective. The score adds 1 point per second if the attacker is alone in the event zone. If an attacker reaches a score of 15/15, he will become the owner of the carcass. An attacker needs at the least 15 seconds to become the owner. In most cases, he will additionally need to erase the control of the current attacker or owner, before claiming the title of attacker. When you are alone in the event zone, the score of the current attacker or owner will be substracted by 1 point per second. When the score reaches zero, you become the new attacker.

Winning and Looting

Carcass Lootable
After the duration runs out, the carcass becomes lootable. Only the owner may loot the carcass (even though it is fully possible to let the owner loot the carcass, kill him and loot him).
After the duration runs out, there will be an additional minute, where everyone can loot the carcass.
Carcass empty
When the carcass was looted, it will be displayed as empty.
Regardless if looted or not, the carcass will despawn after three and a half minutes.

Examples

Example 1
Player A is the owner of the event and the score is 15/15. But he has gone away.
Player B is alone in the event zone. The score falls from 15 to 0 in 15 seconds.
Player B is now the attacker, Player A is still the owner.
Player B is still alone in the event zone. The score ticks up from 0 to 15 over another 15 seconds.
Player B is no owner and attacker with a score of 15/15, which took him 30 uncontested seconds.

Example 2
Player A is the owner of the event and the score is 15/15.
Player B enters the event zone and fights with Player A. The score does not change.
Player A dies and Player B is alone in the event zone. The score runs down to 0. Player B becomes the attacker.
Player B stays uncontested in the event zone for 2 additional seconds. The score rises to 2.
Player C comes from the shadows and kills the weakened Player B. As long as both are in the event zone, the score doesn't change.
At this point in time, Player A is still the owner of the event, while player B is the attacker. The score ist 2/15.
Player C now is alone in the event zone. He waits 2 seconds and the score goes down to 0. Player C is now the attacker.
Player C stays in the event zone for an additional 15 seconds. The score reaches 15 and Player C is the new owner of the event.
